Hello everyone! We are so thrilled to share how amazing it was to work with Kofi Smiles and the BBC Radio Humberside team recently. Hot Gospel was honoured to be Kofi's 'Class of the Week,' and it’s been an absolute joy to see the spotlight on our choir all week long. We are beyond grateful for this opportunity to share our music and passion with a wider audience.
Hot Gospel has grown so much since we first began in 2004 in Hornsea, and this journey has taken us to incredible places, both locally and internationally. To think that we’ve gone from our small beginnings to collaborating with artists like Peter Andre, Heather Small, and Paul Carrack is something that continues to inspire us. And to now be highlighted by Kofi and the BBC is another reminder that we are truly walking a blessed path.
Hearing stories from choir members like Beata, Tracey, Paul, Francis amd John, who feel they are exactly where they are meant to be, and witnessing the passion that all our members bring to every rehearsal and performance, fills us with so much excitement. The way each person's journey comes together to create something powerful and moving is a testament to the magic of gospel music.
We know that God is up to something with Hot Gospel. From our humble beginnings to being finalists in the Songs of Praise Gospel Choir of the Year competition, to now planning our upcoming choir concert in December, and even looking ahead to international opportunities like performing in Barcelona and Italy—it’s all part of something greater.
The stories we hear within our choir family are a powerful reminder that every voice matters, and every person brings a unique energy to what we do. Whether it’s our new choir members who have just joined or those who’ve been with us from the start, we’re so grateful to be part of a community that lifts each other up, shares their struggles and triumphs, and continues to grow in faith and harmony.
So here’s to more collaborations, more stories, and more moments where we can truly see that we are exactly where we’re supposed to be. Thank you, Kofi Smiles and the BBC Radio Humberside team, for shining a light on Hot Gospel and allowing us to share our passion for gospel music with so many. We can’t wait to see where this journey takes us next!
Stay tuned, everyone, because we know the best is yet to come!
